STORAGE DESIGN INSPIRATIONS FOR STAYING ORGANIZED IN TIGHT SPACES

The massive success of Marie Kondo’s book, and the hit Netflix series, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, along with spring cleaning season in full swing inspired us. We thought: what if you designed interior spaces that never actually needed tidying up?

With the rise in popularity of urban dwelling, minimalism, and small living, space is at a premium. We asked our Residential Design Studio team for some tips on designing tidy: incorporating beautiful organizational elements into small spaces.

nikki’s tip:

Utilize “Dead” space for storage solutions. This makes those spaces purposeful and unique while also expanding your storage space.

carter’s tip:

Create multi-functional spaces. By combining a dining room with, say, a kitchen or game area, you can maximize your space’s uses without sacrificing circulation.

becca’s tip:

Take advantage of the entire volume of the room with vertical storage systems. Place items that you do not use as often up high to leave room for everyday items below.
