The Ranahan

In partnership with OS Architecture, KTI designed this new ground up resort from initial concepting through completion. The Welk resort is located on the scenic bend in the Blue River, minutes from Breckenridge’s ski resort. The overarching design was influenced by the rich mining and ranching history of Breckenridge, combined with a fresh mountain-modern style twist. Custom wood sliced carpet patterns act as a background to metal I-beams, rustic custom lighting fixtures, comfortable leather furnishings and a cogwheel mining sculpture created by a local artist is a major focal point of the building. The juxtaposition of the warm, inviting and cozy aesthetic combined with the natural materials in the interior architectural detailing, create an original, memorable environment.
